Gerald Schuebel (1925 - 2012)

MANITOWOC -
"Gerald H. Schuebel, 87, a resident of the River Wood Estates Assisted Living Facility, 950 So Rapids Rd., Manitowoc, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Aurora Medical Center of Two Rivers.

 


"Jerry was born June 26, 1925 on a dairy farm in Edson, WI to the late John and Clara Schiesel Schuebel. On January 3, 1947 Jerry was united in marriage to the former Elizabeth LaPan in Florida, and she preceded him in death on March 15, 1979. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict and retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. He and his family settled in Racine, WI where he was an electrician by trade working in the Racine and Kenosha area. In 1969 he became the owner of Scheubel's Island Tavern in Shoto, which he operated for four years, and then worked for the Mirro Corporation until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and belonged to many conservation clubs. Jerry was a very social person.



"Survivors include four children, Jerry Jr. and Diane Schuebel, Lyle and Peggy Schuebel, all of Racine, WI, Nita and Bob Senour, of Mundelein, IL, Roxie and Dave Doucha, of Mishicot, WI. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Jessica Schuebel Brown, Josh Schuebel, David Schuebel, Jason Schuebel, Marty Senour, Katrina Senour Blatnik, Phil Senour, Andrea Doucha Peltier, Eric Doucha and Trisha Doucha, ten great-grand -children, and by his special friend Dorothy Ringmeier and their special dog "Sugar". In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by a son Donald, a twin sister, Geraldine Schuebel Bourgoyne, and three brothers, Clarence and Galen Schuebel and an infant brother Hilary.

"Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 So. State St., Mishicot, WI with the Reverend John Becker officiating. Relatives and friends may call after 9 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home until the time of service at 11a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation. Full military graveside services will be held at Holy Cross Parish Cemetery in Mishicot. The Schuebel family would like to express a very special thank you to the entire staff at the River Wood Estates Assisted Living Facility, and to his many friends at the Tower Tavern in Manitowoc, for their loving and compassionate care given to Jerry during his illness. Your kindness will always be remembered.
